Free web hosts
If you ever need a free subdomain, here are some of the top picks for web hosting:
- Infinity Free is a very generous free web host. On its free tier, you get free PHP hosting from many domains that you can test if blocked. Has numerous other benefits that make it one of my staples.
- Firebase by Google is also very generous; however, it takes longer to set up. You cannot use it on managed Chromebooks that do not allow Linux, but its services are useful enough for this site.
- Github Pages is only for static builds, but it is still a good website hoster. Useful for personal blogs and offline games.
- Fly.io provides free Node.js hosting, but requires a credit card. A top-tier pick (unless you don't have a card).
- Vercel provides services like Fly.io's and also requires a credit card. Great with Next.js.
- Netlify is another static hosting service that is easy to use.
- Wasmer can deploy a lot of backend stuff, but mainly frontend. Very easy to deploy straight from a Github repository or a directory on your computer.
